Mussels in tomato wine sauce






We indulged ourselves a little for tonight's dinner and had mussels in tomato wine sauce. If you love seafood then you have to try this. This recipe uses a few simple ingredients, yet the taste is just amazing!

Ingredients:

  • 120g onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 85g olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1kg mussels in their shell or mussel meat
  • 200g fresh tomatoes (quartered)
  • 100g white wine
  • pinch of salt
  1. First chop the garlic and onion on speed 5 for 4 seconds.
  2. Add the chilli and oil to cook for 7 minutes on 100 degrees on speed soft.
  3. Add the tomatoes and chop on speed 4.5 for about 10 to 20 seconds.
  4. Add the wine and salt and cook for 13 minutes on varoma speed 1. While doing this add the mussels in the varoma.
  5. Set the varoma aside and cook for a further 15 minutes on varoma speed 1.
  6. Combine the mussels and tomato wine sauce in a serving bowl.
