Maybe I am a little addicted to chia seeds... Today I tweaked my usual pasta sauce and added some chia seeds to it. The best thing is that you couldn't even see it because I ground it all finely into a meal so that even fussy eaters would be able to enjoy this super healthy pasta sauce.
I am always looking out for ideas on how to add more chia seeds to our food, so if you have any suggestions, please leave a comment below so that we can all share ideas!
Ingredients
- 350g tomatoes
- 1 yellow capsicum
- 1 carrot
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic glove
- 50g olive oil
- 1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- handful of fresh herbs
- drops of tabasco (to your liking)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- First grind up the chia seeds on speed 10 for about 1 minute and set aside.
- Next add all vegetables to the bowl and process on speed 5 for 10 seconds.
- Add the remainder of the ingredients and cook for 10 minutes on 100 degrees on speed 1.
We topped our pasta sauce with some nutritional yeast flakes to give it a cheesy flavour. Delicious!
