Pasta Sauce with Chia Seeds!

Maybe I am a little addicted to chia seeds... Today I tweaked my usual pasta sauce and added some chia seeds to it. The best thing is that you couldn't even see it because I ground it all finely into a meal so that even fussy eaters would be able to enjoy this super healthy pasta sauce.

I am always looking out for ideas on how to add more chia seeds to our food, so if you have any suggestions, please leave a comment below so that we can all share ideas!

Ingredients

  • 350g tomatoes
  • 1 yellow capsicum
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic glove
  • 50g olive oil
  • 1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • handful of fresh herbs
  • drops of tabasco (to your liking)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  1. First grind up the chia seeds on speed 10 for about 1 minute and set aside.
  2. Next add all vegetables to the bowl and process on speed 5 for 10 seconds.
  3.  Add the remainder of the ingredients and cook for 10 minutes on 100 degrees on speed 1.
We topped our pasta sauce with some nutritional yeast flakes to give it a cheesy flavour. Delicious!
